Is there a requirement to keep a copy of the Section 17 Consultant's Report on the patient's clinical file?
Answer:
A copy of the Section 17 report is sent to the treating psychiatrist, good practice would dictate that all reports/notes regarding a patient is maintained in an integral file. Local policies should reflect where such a report should be stored.
