1 & 2. Section 49 (2) (b) states that a tribunal may:
Direct in writing any person whose evidence is required by the tribunal to attend before the tribunal on a date and at a time and place specified in the direction and there to give evidence and to produce any document or thing in his or her possession or power specified in the direction.

4. In relation to assisted admissions the HSE has arrangements made to remove persons requiring involuntary admission to an approved centre. The Garda can also be requested to assist staff in removing the person if there is a likelihood of harm. The applicant is responsible for removing a person to the approved centre concerned, however if they are unable to do so, the GP who makes a recommendation for an involuntary admission should contact the clinical director of the approved centre to make arrangements.
