Question:
Where a recommendation is made for an involuntary admission of a person to an approved centre, who is responsible for taking this person to the approved centre?

Answer:
The Mental Health Act, 2001 states that the applicant is  responsible for removing a person subject to a recommendation for involuntary admission to the approved centre concerned. If the applicant is unable to arrange for the removal of the person concerned, the registered medical practitioner who made the recommendation can request the clinical director of the approved centre concerned to arrange removal of the person to the approved centre.
