Is a requirement of the Mental Health Act, 2001 for the applicant to attend the tribunal?

Answer:
The Mental Health Act, 2001 does not stipulate that the applicant has to attend the tribunal. However, the Mental Health Tribunal has the power to direct any person whose evidence is required to attend before the tribunal.
